Senior Spotlight: Gillian Bosko, Covenant Women’s Tennis

What has been your favorite aspect of Covenant Women’s Tennis?

The community. I’m so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing girls and coaches. They have made the biggest impact on who I’ve become while at Covenant, and I wouldn’t have made it through these years without the support of a team.

As a senior, what would you tell your freshman/younger self?

I’d probably tell myself that I made the right choice by choosing to play at Covenant. I’ve been on lots of different teams, but this one feels the most like a team where we’re all close and are there to support each other rather than just focusing on the sport.

What is your favorite in-match moment/memory?

I think my favorite match memory was the first doubles match I played with my old partner, Madelyn, my sophomore year. I’ve always preferred singles over doubles, but we had so much fun and were carefree while still playing aggressively that first match, and it really set the tone for the rest of the season.

Do you have a favorite road trip or travel memory from the past four years?

My freshman year we were on our way to play Belhaven, and halfway down the mountain got stuck because it was snowing. We ended up getting out of the van and played in the snow for about an hour trying to figure out a way to get back to the school. Then this nice older man in a truck came by and said he could get up the hill, and offered to take us back three at a time. We ended up playing and winning the match later that night.
