In November, the last of the Scots fall sports wrapped up their seasons after making some noise around the conference.
After taking Maryville to penalty kicks, mens soccer fell just short of a conference title; however, along the way, they compiled an 8-5-5 record (5-1 CCS) and hosted the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) semi-final game and the conference championship game.
Eight Scots were named all-conference, five first team, and three second team. Covenant featured the most all-conference players as well as the Defensive Player of the Year, Fox Landgren ’26. Coach Scott Bosgraf was awarded the title of Coach of the Year for the third year in a row.
Following a 1-6-1 start to the season, Covenant’s womens soccer cruised through their in-conference schedule to the tune of a 5-2-1 record, which earned them a first-round home game in the CCS Tournament, where they would fall to the eventual conference runner-ups, Asbury University, and ended the season 6-9-2.
The Lady Scots had six players awarded all-conference honors, the second most of all teams in the conference.
Over the fall semester, Covenant volleyball compiled a 20-14 record (13-3 CCS) against a difficult schedule that featured four top-25 teams. Their conference record earned them a first-round home game in the CCS conference tournament in which they handily defeated Belhaven 3-0 before falling on the road to Maryville in the conference semi-final game in the fifth set. Two of our Scots earned all-conference honors.
Womens cross country placed second in the conference meet to a strong Asbury squad. Five women earned all-conference honors: two first team and three second team. Lucie Demers ’29 was named CCS Rookie of the Year. Two weeks later, they followed up their strong conference performance with a 12th-place finish at NCAA Division III South Regionals and put up their best team average time all season with a 24:47 in the 6-kilometer.
Mens cross country went back-to-back as CCS champions with a dominant win at the conference meet and featured seven all-conference honorees: four first team and three second team. Coach Eli Kaczinski was awarded Coach of the Year honors by the conference. The Scots followed up that performance with their second straight 12th-place finish at the NCAA Division III South Regional meet, where they also put up their best team average time of 27:03 in the 8-kilometer.
The athletic action on the mountain doesn’t stop with these teams' seasons, as mens and womens basketball, tennis, track and field and mens golf all kicked off their seasons before they enter full-time competition in the spring.
