Walter Slide is a beloved Chattanooga rock group. Walter Slide is a band which transports its listeners to a place of contemplative bliss. The basslines are impossible not to dance to, and the lyrics are so funky that you have to work not to memorize them. Their songs are so melodic that it’s easy to be transported to another plane.

I elect this morning

Not to step on the crusted leaves

My footfalls are silent

The melody remains in tact

It doesn’t have an ocean to swim in. It has no sandy beaches to have bonfires on. It doesn’t have a big downtown music scene where there is something exciting to do every weekend night, and free shows every weeknight full of boisterous younglings.

I remember so clearly, the stiff, wooden pew

Daniel Holdridge, a Covenant College senior known by most for his bright orange beanie, released his EP “Imagine a Place Where Everyone Gets Better Every Day” on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Holdridge started creating music about a year ago, but he has been playing guitar for three years. Holdridge’s artistic process varies greatly, but when it comes to music, what he enjoys most is playing with other people.
